This project is intended to be a loose weave that moves and drapes. This is accomplished by working with needles that are 3mm larger than the yarn’s recommended size. As you work it will not appear to be very loose, but it will relax significantly after blocking. Adding vinegar to the water while blocking helps to stabilize the colour. To make the cowl wider, add stitches in multiples of 8 (approx 4”).
This project is great for beginners who are ready to move on from scarves and learn cables.
Skills: Cast on, knit & purl in the same row, work in the round, cable, bind off.
Size: After blocking & lying flat: 13” wide (26” in circumference), 12” high.
